What happens when a client loses a court case?
The single most important rule in relation to bringing or defending a civil case in court is that in most cases “costs follow the event”. This means that whoever loses usually has to pay not only his/her own costs but also most of the costs incurred by the winner. It is important, therefore, to consider two things before bringing or defending proceedings - firstly, your chances of success, and secondly, whether you are will be able to pay the costs if all costs are awarded against you.
If you lose your case, we will not charge you a fee but will simply ask you to discharge the Outlay Loan and interest thereon and any other actual outlay.
