Although Ireland has been a member of the EU since 1973, the level of knowledge and understanding within this area has been slow to have an impact in areas other than agriculture. This is slowly changing with EU becoming an integral part of almost all business and personal transactions.

Our expertise in this area covers all the key areas of:

Its impact is now becoming relevant in all areas of law and we took the view that if we did not acquire the necessary expertise we would not be in a position to advise in the areas of Competition, family and e-commerce but to name a few.

We have found that the European principles of certainty and direct effects have come to our assistance in dealing with issues which otherwise would have not have been resolved without recourse to the European Court.

We have recognised the importance of this area in its application. Áine Ryan’s primary degree is based on European Law and John Lynch holds a Diploma in European Law.
